Ingredients

  • 6 flour tortillas choose a brand
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate ensure no alcohol-based flavorings
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or coconut cream for dairy-free option
  • 1 cup whipped cream or dairy-free whipped topping
  • Optional toppings chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios), shredded coconut, fresh mint leaves

Instructions

Prepare the Cinnamon-Sugar Tortilla Chips

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Brush both sides of each flour tortilla with the melted butter. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over both sides of the tortillas. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut each tortilla into 8 triangles. Place the triangles in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for about 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chips are golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool.

Prepare the Chocolate Sauce

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips and heavy cream. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. If you prefer, you can melt the chocolate and cream together on the stovetop using a double boiler method. Set aside.

Assemble the Dessert Nachos

  • Arrange the cinnamon-sugar tortilla chips on a large serving platter or individual plates. Scatter the sliced strawberries generously over the chips. Drizzle the warm chocolate sauce evenly on top. Add dollops of whipped cream or your chosen topping. Finish with any optional toppings like chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or fresh mint for an extra layer of flavor and texture.

Serve

  • Strawberry Dessert Nachos are best enjoyed fresh to keep the chips crisp and the strawberries juicy. Grab a fork or just dig in with your hands for a fun and shareable dessert experience!
