Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt plain, unsweetened
  • 2 medium apples such as Fuji or Honeycrisp, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans optional, for added crunch

Instructions

  • Peel, core, and finely chop the apples. Toss them with lemon juice to prevent browning. In a small bowl, combine the chopped apples with cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Add Greek yogurt and vanilla extract, mixing until light and fluffy.
  • Gently fold the spiced apple mixture into the cheesecake base. If desired, fold in the chopped walnuts or pecans. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Transfer the dip to a serving bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to chill and thicken.
  • Serve chilled with your favorite dippers such as apple slices, graham crackers, or cinnamon sugar pita chips.

Notes

Use firm, slightly tart apples like Fuji, Honeycrisp, or Granny Smith. Ensure cream cheese is softened for smooth texture. For a lighter dip, substitute some cream cheese with Greek yogurt or low-fat cream cheese. Adjust sweetness to taste. Add spices like ginger or cardamom for extra warmth. For a nut-free version, omit nuts or use toasted coconut flakes. Variations include caramel drizzle, pumpkin spice addition, maple syrup substitution, and vegan adaptations.
