Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling or cherry preserves ensure it contains no gelatin or animal-derived ingredients
  • Graham crackers, fresh fruit (like apple slices or strawberries), or vanilla wafers for dipping

Instructions

  • Start by ensuring your cream cheese is softened to room temperature. This makes it easier to whip up into a smooth and creamy base.
  • In a medium bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and fluffy. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, then continue to beat until everything is fully combined and creamy.
  • If you’re using cherry pie filling, give it a gentle stir to ensure the cherries are evenly coated in the syrup. This topping will add a beautiful burst of color and flavor on top of the creamy base.
  • Transfer the cream cheese mixture to a serving bowl. Spoon the cherry pie filling evenly over the top. You can leave it as is for a beautiful layered effect or gently swirl the topping into the cream cheese for a marbled look.
  • For best results, cover the dip with plastic wrap and chill it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld and the dip to firm up slightly. Serve with your favorite dippers and enjoy!

Notes

Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened to prevent lumps and ensure a smooth texture. Adjust sweetness to taste. For extra creaminess, fold in whipped cream or Greek yogurt. Use good-quality cherry pie filling without gelatin. Variations include swapping fruit toppings, adding chocolate or nuts, and making a vegan version with dairy-free cream cheese. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and stir before serving.
