Ingredients

  • 12 soft slider buns or dinner rolls
  • 1 pound sliced cooked turkey breast deli style or leftover roasted turkey
  • 12 slices turkey bacon or regular bacon if preferred and permissible
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese halved
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese halved
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce romaine or iceberg
  • 1 large tomato thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and honey. Mix well until smooth and creamy.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the turkey bacon slices until crisp, about 4-5 minutes per side. Drain excess grease on paper towels and set aside.
  • Slice the slider buns horizontally, keeping the top and bottom buns connected if possible. Spread a generous layer of the mayo-mustard sauce on the bottom halves of the buns.
  • Layer each slider bottom with slices of turkey breast, then place one slice of turkey bacon on top. Add a slice of cheddar cheese and a slice of Swiss cheese (halved). Follow with a few tomato slices and a small handful of shredded lettuce. Finally, place the top bun over the assembled ingredients.
  • Transfer the assembled sliders to a large baking dish. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Brush this mixture generously over the tops of the slider buns.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake the sliders for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops of the buns are golden brown.
  • Remove the sliders from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes before serving. Use a sharp knife to cut between the buns to separate the individual sliders. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Use fresh, high-quality turkey breast for best flavor. Don’t skip the butter topping for a golden crisp finish. Customize the sauce by adding smoked paprika or hot sauce. Make ahead by assembling and refrigerating until ready to bake. Variations include swapping cheeses, making a vegetarian version, adding spicy elements, or using different bread types. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven for best results. Sliders can be frozen unbaked for up to 1 month.
